Book a lesson
Based in Leyland in Lancashire I teach a wide variety of students from across the Northwest, from complete beginners to professionals; actors, singers and other professional voice users. Achievements of past students include :- gaining professional singing work, placements at top London performing arts colleges and regular distinctions in ABRSM, LAMDA and LCM vocal exams. I teach all styles from pop to opera and know about the techniques involved in creating these different styles.

I assisted TV production company Wall to Wall with recruiting singers for BBC1's The Voice ; my students had access to private talent scouting sessions for several of the series.

Singing & Voice Lessons HELP you to :

  • Warm up quickly and efficiently
  • Extend your range & sing for longer
  • Increase flexibility
  • Sing in different styles and cross genres
  • Support the voice and gain more power by directing energy away from the throat into the body

SINGING TEACHER
I am a singing teacher and freelance lecturer in voice.  I have been an associate lecturer in singing on the musical theatre degree courses at Arden School of Theatre,  Manchester College, the University of Central Lancashire in Preston and  Blackpool & Fylde College.  I trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, originally as a classical singer. Following my graduation I became very interested in other voice qualities such as musical theatre and pop and the newly emerging field of evidence based singing techniques such as Estill Voicecraft.  As such I went on to train with some of the leading practitioners in this approach -  Paul Farrington (Royal Opera House coach) and Gillyanne Kayes (West End coach & author of Singing & The Actor).  Alongside this I also went to Arts Ed in London where I did an M.A. in acting. I have worked professionally as a classical singer and actress predominantly on the stage.

I take a holistic approach to teaching as I believe that to be a successful performer requires more than just talent.  Today's artists need to be emotionally prepared for a very competitive industry whilst being technically capable of the demands that will be placed upon their voice.  I place equal importance on developing a student's individuality as a performer as I do on their vocal technique.  I'm a member of the British Voice Association and frequently attend workshops relating to  developments in singing, vocal health and performing.

Singing lessons take place in a relaxed environment at my home studio in Leyland, Preston.
I also work as an associate coach and mentor for PANDA (Performing Arts Network & Development Agency) in Manchester helping performers in all disciplines develop their careers within the industry.
